TangleU - It Begins!

I have been here in Portland, ME for over a day and spoken with tons of people and I am already crazy exhausted.... And TangleU hasn't even officially begun!

Here are a few if the people I have met...

How cool are the trading cards!!! I thought maybe a few people would play along, but tons of people did it. Yeah! I want to collect the whole set. I'm meeting the real faces behind the names I know from the internet. So exciting.

And the teachers went out to dinner tonight. All the little restaurants here have interesting art covering the walls.

Due to an unfortunate incident involving a teacher from Canada being turned back by immigration (what the...?) the whole class schedule was redone. So I am not teaching tomorrow- but I went from an hour and a half class to three hours! So we will really have some time to play with the printmaking.

  2. Those cards are ultra-brilliant! I'd like to extend the idea to travel. Canon sells a very small ink jet printer which is as easy to take on vacation as a tablet/laptop computer. I'm thinking of meeting people and if a friendship occurs, taking each other's pictures at the "location" (whatever it is), print them in your hotel room, then share. Sandy, you might want to look at some type of generic design styled to perforated "postcard" paper. Anyway BRAVO for a truly innovative idea!

  3. Man, I should edit my stuff before clicking "publish." I meant "...take on vacation as IS a tablet/laptop computer" and "print them in MY hotel room". Even that doesn't sound particularly literate, but the bottom line is BRAVO. I love your idea!

  5. The trading cards idea started spreading at retreat to Paradise, Sandy…lots of folks had them already!!! I can't wait until I am a CZT this June, then I will order some too. Is Margaret Bremner there too? I think she said she was going to Tangle U. I hope she was not the teacher turned back? HOW could that be?

    1. Yes - she was the one. :-( I was really looking forward to meeting her - she's one of my tangle-heros.

  6. There's a restaurant in Portland called Duck Fat that all my friends rave about. If you check it out, let me know what you think!

    1. I didn't really get to see anything this time. You'll have to meet me in Portland sometime so we can explore together.
